Wow. What a great six months! We all learned a lot. If this were Arby's, I'd have a card out there reading "HOW MAY WE SERVE YOU BETTER?" but we're a radio show. A lot of things have changed through the season - the running times, the incidental music and "stingers" among others - but what were your impressions. Where did we miss the mark and when did we nail it? What moments, characters, situations or lines stood out for you, good and bad? We want to know. And we'll sit in our little manager's office obsessing over them while we move toward new episodes. Don't leave us hanging: Your thoughts?

Since you're looking for critical thoughts in addition to positive ones, here's something I've encountered. Due to the large cast of characters and the audio-only nature of the medium I sometimes find myself getting confused as to what is going on. Examples from the final episode of season 0:
* I actually didn't recognize the Mayor's voice at first (you would think I would given his unique accent), so it was only partway into the final scene that I realized I was listening to two speeches going on in two different places. In retrospect, I feel dumb for not getting it at first, but it was a moment of confusion. Maybe if the scene had opened with someone briefly introducing the Mayor it would have helped?
* In the time between parts 1 and 2 of episode 6, I lost track of the details regarding the people Grant and Jo were up against. I couldn't remember how many there were and who each one was. I knew one of them was the guy selling tickets to the freak show, but there were other guys too and I couldn't remember who they were by voice. This made it difficult to follow exactly what Jo was doing when she was taking her opponents out, so that when one of them unexpectedly takes the upper hand I wasn't absolutely sure exactly what had happened.

That is an excellent start! I admit I was concerned about the threads tangling, particularly with the monthly schedule and an exploding cast list. I think I caught a few times when I didn't quite leave "screenplay" mode for full-on "audioplay" style. Mike and Carole have been great at catching me on those "Who is he/she talking to?" moments. One of the things that might make things easier in Season 1 is a lock-down to 60 minute episodes (give or take a few dozen seconds) weekly. And I FULLY intend to mow down the cast over the next (cough) episodes.

And just to re-emphasize, what I mentioned above didn't spoil my enjoyment or appreciation of what the HG World team is doing.
For awhile I had on my "to-do" list trying my hand at writing a script for Chronic Rift's audio drama contest (I studied playwriting for a period in college), and I couldn't seem to find the focus. My hat's off to someone who has it.

Oh, and I understand. We ask only because Mike and I get so close to the material that we don't hear as listeners. We've got a great team picking up details we miss, but ultimately it comes down to people like you who could listen to any number of shows out there (or go outside, read a book, make babies, rob a bank or any number of other things) but choose to invest their time in HG World. There's an objectivity there that we need to improve the show.
So thanks! And to everyone else, keep it coming!
Happy new Year!

The 60-minute thing would be my biggest suggestion. For whatever reason, an hour is about as long as I can attend to anything. Well, there are one or two exceptions but they aren't really relevant here.

I am new here, it actually took a bit of effort to find this site. For what it is worth, I enjoy the hell out of your production and would like to thank everyone involved in it. With bated breath I wait for more. Thank you all,
Scott Rusnak.
