Hi and thank you for this wonderfully tweaked show! My name's Lucy, and I sing with Jay's wife. I'm working my way forward through the episodes (last one I've finished so far is #5) and I'm having a GREAT time. Now whenever I see Jay I'll know I'm not the only twisted thinker in the room. Thank you also to the actors - you make it even funnier and captivating.

Hi, I'm Jim, and I'll be voicing the Ken roles in Googies. I've been dancing around the audio drama community for a few months - been cast in a few small roles and one other major role. I think the Kens are going to stretch me quite a bit, and I'm looking forward to it.
Cheers!

GOOD MORNING SURVIVORS! My name is Mark and I play nobody on the show but am an avid listener/fan. I look forward to each and every show, and make sure to give a new episode of HG World top priority in my podcast rotation.

Hello, my name is PJ. I heard about the show on one of my other zombie podcasts and wanted to give you a try. I listened to all of the episodes in the last two days. It's a great show. I grew up in Clarion, PA, and while I don't live there now, it's really neat to hear you talk about areas I know (Oil City, Clarion, etc.). Great, great show. If you need any additional help with anything, just let me know.

Welcome to the board. Jay

Just wanted to say hello.
I am from London and have been a massive post apoc fiction fan since I was a kid growing up through all that cold war paranoia.
I confess that Zombies are not my number one post apoc goodness (more you sort of Pandemic person in a very British cosy catastrophe way. Give me the quiet desperation allied with almost limitless amounts of free booze of being one of a tiny minority of survivors every time) but I have nothing but respect for those of you in the Zombie community because your output is staggering and whilst some of it suffers from what I can only put down to too much influence from Music videos in terms of pod casting, the quality is second to none and your show is brilliant. I love the attention to detail in how you covered what I call the 'fall'.
I run my own small website dedicated to the British post apoc fiction and am going to link your site to it. Its called 'Put the Kettle on' which I hope gives you an idea of the sort of laid back approach I want to take.
Would it be ok if I post a link to our site on here ?
Anyways best of luck with it all. You have a fan here in the UK.

Just wanted to say hello. Howdy! Me, too! HGW takes me back to days playing Twilight:2000 RPG, reading about how the Soviets were going to kill us all... new age, different monsters. True dat. Thank you! I wonder if you could elaborate on what you mean by "too much influence from music videos" I don't immediately disagree, but I'm just not sure what you mean. Awesome! And again, thanks! We love having the word spread. Absolutely! Thanks so much! We have ACTORS out there in the UK, too! Maybe someday we'll have a convention. Glad to see you here, matov!

Well firstly the link to my site is.... ptko.proboards.com/index.cgi . All welcome. As to your question about the whole music video thing, well I guess that I like my Zombie fix to also include a nice slice of social commentary at the same time. For example in George Romeros 'Dawn of the Dead' its an obvious attack on the whole nature of consumerism and for me thats important. Yes you need gore and guts and all the other stuff but there has to be something else in it other wise its just another horror genre which just sets out to shock. Now there is nothing wrong with that in itself but its not for me. Its perhaps a bit snooty of me but when I first see or hear a new addition to the genre my first thoughts are whether its creators have been more influenced by Romero (who is not without his faults, especially in his later contributions) or Michael Jackson and his 'Thriller' video. One of the things I have most enjoyed about your production has been this inclusion of a multi-national UN force and the reaction it gets. Its this sort of thing which sets it apart from just another 'munch and crunch' Zombie experience. Must admit that I am not yet convinced at this notion of 'thinking' Zombies but I am a purist when it comes to this sort of thing and have only recently been able to accept the whole 'Rager' concept in the 28 Days/28 Weeks later franchise so I accept that it might be more about me than the actual idea that all Zombies should conform to the Romero 'norm' actually being right.

That's part of the plan, though. I think zombies are so prevalent that everyone knows their "rules" which, in my humble opinion, undermines the suspense. I wanted to create a world where every millionth infection sparked something like a Gray zombie and I wanted the infection to mutate at it spread and learned more about the host bodies. That way, no one could relax. There are variations on Romero's rules all over the genre, but I wanted to pay tribute not only to his work, but Russo's "braaaaainzzz" zombies, Snyder's fast zombies and the many different styles represented.

hello everyone!
i am new to the board, but not a new listener. i was wondering, with the feed moving and all, will it be changed in itunes? i went to the new feed and told it to subscribe using itunes and it didn't visibly do anything.
if others are confused as well, you could release another short message (only through the new feed) that lets us know we're subscribed correctly. i just don't want to miss any of the fun!
thanks!

Greetings, Radar! We're still working on submitting the new feed to iTunes. Podomatic made it easier to submit, but we've got people working on it. Should be ready by the time we go live with Episode 3 at the end of September. Jay

Hi everyone. My name is Matt and I am not involved with the show in any way but hope to change that. I am a 26 year old Master student and high school social sciences teacher. I am also an avid firearms enthusiast and in my spare time I help design and build custom firearms for members of law enforcement and the military. In addition to focusing my bachelors degree in the area of military history and tactics, I have done extensive research on survivalist strategies. I also work closely with my nearby military units and would love to share my knowledge with HG World if they desired it. I have written quit a bit of fan fiction for a "WWZ" fan fiction website but decided not to publish it with them. I wanted to polish it up a bit and use my work somewhere like HG World where I felt it would get proper attention and criticism as well. I love the "apoc" genre and enjoy writing fiction for it but I am a true a amateur in the writing area. I would love a chance to work with and learn from people who are as passionate about the subject as I am. I would also love to get into audio drama voice over work but once again I am a complete amateur in this are as well. Thanks to all of you for a great show and I can't wait to find out what you have in store next. Matt
