According to Podomatic we have lots of people listening to the show and we couldn't be happier or more grateful. What the numbers don't say is what everyone thinks of the show. We would really like to hear from you the listeners about what you think of the show. Please take the poll and rate the recent episode. If you have any comments, criticisms, observations, suggestions or questions please post them here as well. We really want and need your feedback.
Thanks!
Mike

I know that more than 3 people listened to the new season opener - or at least I sure hope so! Please let us know what you think - all opinions are welcome - good, bad and in-between. We want to bring you the best show possible and your feedback will help us in that effort.
Thanks!!
Mike

I know that as a cast member I don't really count, but I thought it was a great episode. I already know what's going to happen next, but I'm still in suspense wanting to hear it come to life. Awesome editing, Mike.
If I were to make any criticism at all (and this is minor), it's that the background noises occasionally overpower the characters' voices. Anyone else notice this, or is it just my speakers?

Anyone else notice this, or is it just my speakers? Thanks D! Could you cite an instance where you noticed this? One of my primary goals is to find a place in the mix for everything and to prevent any sound from dominating other sounds. I'd like to revisit any scene where you heard this effect so I can review the mix. I'd also like to revisit the idea of enlisting a team of people to review the episode before it launches. I just need to get the show done early enough in the process to make that happen. We could consider reviews of the individual scenes as they're produced. I'll run this past Jay. Thanks for the feedback D - much appreciated! Mike

Two parts stood out in this episode.
In the opening scene I could only JUST tell what was going on. If I didn't know what to listen for, I may have missed David on the bullhorn altogether it was so quiet. Even with knowing what to listen for, I couldn't really make anything out.
In the scene where David shows Barbara where they dispatch zombies, Regina, David and Barbara are all difficult to hear over the banging fence and zombie growls. The sound effects sound about twice the volume of the voices.
One other part is worth mentioning, though I doubt you could do anything about it because I think it was inherent to the recording. When Barbara is addressing the crowd there's a guy that asks how she managed to survive. The voice sounds totally out of place, like it's coming from an entirely different sound scape with a different frequency that was slapped onto your sound scape with no integration into your structure. It was the only part of the episode where I came out of the story and thought, "Wow, that really sounds out of place."
There were similar moments in Season 0, though I can't remember off the top of my head what they were. I seem to remember an entire scene with Dogberry where I couldn't hear anything over the background noise. Perhaps when I go back and give Season 0 another listen I'll take notes, if you'd like.
Other than those few small moments, awesome stuff!
I'd love to help with pre-release quality control. Let me know if you want my assistance.
Dustin

I listened to it twice. The first time was with headphones on my iPod. The second time was through my built in laptop speakers. The sound issues were the same from both sources.
