Interesting from the POV of someone who doesn't act, mix, write or produce audio drama. Best ask those who've been doing this longer and hands on *My .02*

Well, some of them are pretty accurate. like number 7 - over production - it's true, some shows sound too calculated and fake. kind of goes hand in hand with Timing - if it's paced too fast or too slow, it doesn't feel natural. #6 is hard b/c everyone is all over, so it happens. I don't produce b/c I don't have time but I write and act and edit. I wouldn't say he's verbatim completely accurate but it's food for thought.

I have my issues with the writer, mainly because his information is presented as empirical truth. Perhaps I'm biased against him or I just cannot take as read the thoughts of someone who claims to represent "the listeners" but seems to have only a passing interest in anything casual listeners are interested in. Yeah, I agree with most of these points - but they are "duh" points to anyone who's done the work. Sometimes, though, those of us who DO make shows have to pick the battles we NEED to fight and get the show out. Imagine if he actually RAN a show! What exciting problems he might learn to share with others.

I read everything I can find on acting and producing. I'm just looking to improve my skills any way I can. Maybe I'm naive, but the advice in his articles makes sense to me.
